$13.2 Million in Prizes Won on Kansas Lottery Games during the Month of August

The Kansas Lottery announced $13.2 million in prizes were won on Lottery games throughout August. Of that, $9.9 million was won on instant scratch games, $2.4 million was won on draw games, and $917,217 was won on monitor games.

Kansas is one of seven states where winners can claim their prizes anonymously, and while the Kansas Lottery saw a handful of top-tier instant scratch winners this past month, they all chose to remain anonymous. However, some highlights from top-tier instant scratch game winners include one $100,000 winner on the Extreme Crossword ticket, one $100,000 winner on the $100,000 Crossword ticket, one $77,777 winner on the Emerald 7s ticket, and one $75,000 winner on the Mega Jumbo Bucks ticket, which was the final top prize in the game.  

Highlights in draw games include a jackpot win in the Super Kansas Cash game. A Johnson County resident claimed the jackpot worth $1.08 million anonymously. Super Kansas Cash had $1.3 million in overall prizes won, of that, about $1.1 million were top-tier prizes.

  • Northeast Kansas: $1,090,070
  • South Central Kansas: $2,000
  • Southeast Kansas: $2,000
  • Southwest Kansas: $2,000

Powerball had $236,489 in overall prizes won, and $3,000 in top-tier prizes. Below is a breakdown of the amount won per region:

  • North Central Kansas: $1,000
  • South Central Kansas: $1,000
  • Southwest Kansas: $1,000

Lucky for Life had $191,280 in overall prizes won, with $25,000 in top-tier prizes. Below is the breakdown of the amounts won per region:

  • South Central Kansas: $10,000
  • Southwest Kansas: $5,000
  • Northeast Kansas: $5,000
  • Northwest Kansas: $5,000

Mega Millions had a high volume of winners with $130,094 in overall prizes won in August. Of that, $31,000 was won on top-tier prizes. Below is a breakdown of the top-tier amounts won per region:

  • North Central Kansas: $21,000
  • South Central Kansas: $10,000

In Lotto America, $114,409 in overall prizes were won throughout the month, $4,000 was on top-tier prizes. Below is a breakdown of the top-tier amounts won per region:

  • South Central Kansas: $2,000
  • Southwest Kansas: $1,000
  • Northeast Kansas: $1,000

The daily draw game Pick 3 had $295,720 in overall prizes won in August. The game also had 314 top-tier winners who each won $500. Below is a breakdown of the top-tier amounts won per region:

  • Northeast Kansas: $96,000
  • South Central Kansas: $37,000
  • North Central Kansas: $9,500
  • Southeast Kansas: $7,500
  • Southwest Kansas: $7,000

While 2by2 didn’t have any top-tier prizes won, $47,567 was won on prizes less than $500.

The monitor game Keno saw $605,112 in prizes won across the state, and the game Racetrax had $312,609 in prizes won.  

The Kansas Lottery encourages its players to double-check their tickets since many of the top tier prizes remain unclaimed. Players have 365 days from the date of a drawing to claim their prize. For instant games, players have 180 days from the date a game ends to claim their prize.
